FAQs

How is Hunny Nanny Agency different from other referral agencies?

Our agency prides ourselves in our custom process of securing a caregiver for your family. Our specialized personality assessments will make your family feel as though your nanny was made for your family. We believe one of the most important factors of a successful family/nanny relationship is how well your personalities click. Hunny Nanny Agency also provides Nannies with childcare seminars throughout the year. Our topics include an carseat safety, child development, stress management, and educational play.

Hunny Nanny Agency also is excited about our Give Back Program. Our agency does not exist without community, which is why it is so important to us to actively give back. Our Give Back Program engages families by a portion of their referral fee being sent directly to one of our non-profit partners. One of our partners, Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, needs sandwiches, snacks, fruits and vegetables on the daily. Hunny Nanny Agency hosts food making sessions that your family, nannies in the community and friends can all attend. Food includes peanut butter sandwiches, packaged of snacks, or just donating food to be dropped at their location. Our mission is to bring community together. Doing so by serving the community!

What can I expect to pay a Nanny?

Expect to pay no less than $17 per hour for a Nanny. Nanny wages vary based on the amount of children, qualifications the Nanny may hold and their daily responsibilities. Our agency advocates fair pay for Nannies, therefore will not work with a family offering less than what a Nanny deserves. The best candidates are worth it.

Why should I use a Nanny agency?

There are so many platforms out there today that assist in finding childcare. Hiring a Nanny agency not only makes the process of hiring a caregiver for your family easy, but it will ensure you have someone absolutely exceptional taking care of your children. Nannies you find on the assortment of Facebook pages, etc, tend to be under-qualified because they cannot apply to agencies due to low experience levels or their credentials are lacking. Hiring an agency will leave the screening processes to us, ensuring more time for you to spend with family.

What is a Nanny Share? Can your agency help us navigate this?

First, yes! Our agency LOVES Nanny Shares. We can help your family in your search for another family to do a share with as well. A Nanny Share can be a cost effective approach to childcare. Hiring a Nanny is the most expensive form of childcare. A Nanny Share is a great alternative for families looking for a more economically friendly approach. It provides many other benefits, including built in playmates for children, exposure to a controlled and limited amount of germs, which can help immune systems to build, without being overwhelmed. A Nanny Share is also a great resource for parents. A Nanny Share can be an arrangement with a family that you know, or can be a likeminded family in your same community. So, not only will the kids have built in playmates, but parents can build relationships with parents with similar aged children. Which can become really valuable resources when it comes to parenting or simply friendship!

What is continued support?

Our agency promise is to continually help you navigate being an employer. When you hire a Nanny, you take on the role as boss. Our agency is here to help you navigate that experience, if needed. Our agency is also here to provide continued support to your Nanny. We will host CPR recertifications throughout the year, update our seminar topics and provide educational resources.

Why are there add on options for replacement periods and backup care?

We understand that hiring a Nanny with an agency is an investment. We view these add on options as insurance policies. Life happens and the unexpected can happen. If your family likes to have a safety net, replacement period packages are a great option for you.

Backup care is a package that will provide your family with a fill in Nanny if your Nanny is sick, going on vacation etc. Our agency will need notice to help you in these instances, but this package will ensure your family never has to scramble for care in the event of an emergency, etc. The family is responsible for paying the Nanny providing back up care, our agency is only required to locate care for your family with this package.

How long will it take Hunny Nanny Agency to secure a qualified caregiver for our family?

From phase one to phase four the process should take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. We want to ensure we find the best caregiver for you family, so this isn’t a process we take lightly. This will include interviewing, all the way to your Nannies first day of work. Time lines will vary from family to family.
